Today, we have Mac App Store apps, apps distributed through packages, apps with different Volume Licensing techniques. We also have profiles, managed preferences, directory services, backup, single sign on for network services and webapps. We have certificates to distribute, settings to manage and software to keep updated.

Some of this is easy. Some of this is time consuming. Most tasks though, fall somewhere in the middle. How can you limit the amount of time it takes to perform common tasks in an Apple environment?

In this talk, we’ll look at building an automated environment that allows you to manage your Apple devices. We’ll look at doing so with proprietary products, the open source community, and look at how few toolchains are complete without a mix between the two.
